Q: I've been with married to my husband for three years but with him for 12. I've always wanted children and knew he was less keen but he did promise me that, one day, we would have them. The older he gets (he's 48) the more I realise he's never going to feel the time is right and he recently said that he probably shouldn't have made the baby promise. I love him but feel my chances of becoming a mum slipping away. Should I leave him and start again with someone new? |

The last few years for me have been a joyful discovery of life and myself. Things have not always seemed easy or felt comfortable but I am very grateful for all I have experienced as it has helped me to find aspects of life and myself that are hidden treasures. Back in 1999 I became engaged to the love of my life whilst we were both at vet school together. That year he graduated and I still had 2 years left to study. In the summer I fell pregnant and we had 1 week to get used to the idea before I travelled back to Edinburgh from Devon, where he had got his first job! We both knew we wanted our baby more than anything. |
